A composite filling can also be used to restore a broken tooth.
Composite filling material is made of a blend of powdered glass and acrylic resin.
Following preparation, the composite material is placed in layers, using a special light to harden each layer. Then the filling is shaped to fit the tooth before being polished.
The benefits of white fillings go beyond cosmetic. They provide significant strength to the restoration. Dentists don’t need to remove as much tooth structure before placing a white filling which means we can preserve more of your natural tooth.
If cared for properly, a white filling can last for 7-10 years before it needs to be replaced.
