Cosmetic bonding is an excellent way of enhancing the overall appearance of your smile, requiring little to no preparation on your natural teeth.

We use the same composite material that we use for white fillings to correct staining, chips, or even gaps between the teeth in a single appointment. We adjust the shade of the material to match the rest of your teeth to achieve a seamless and natural look.

How does cosmetic bonding work?

Your dentist will begin by roughening the surface of your tooth slightly to help the composite material bond to it. They will then apply a strong adhesive before placing the resin onto your tooth.

The dentist will finish by shaping it to match the rest of your natural teeth before curing it with a special light and polishing it for a smooth finish.

Does it hurt?

Cosmetic bonding requires minimal tooth preparation beforehand, so it usually doesn’t hurt.

How should I care for my teeth after cosmetic bonding?

Follow good oral hygiene practises, and avoid substances known to stain the teeth such as tea, coffee, and red wine, as composite resin can stain in the same way as natural teeth.

Avoid biting into hard things like ice cubes or sweets. Chewing on pens, fingernails and other objects can damage bonded teeth.

Cosmetic bonding is a simple and affordable solution to minor imperfections. Call us on 0141 632 1378 to book an appointment.

This practice is honestly hands down the best I've ever been to. The staff are so friendly, warm and welcoming and the practice is very modern and clean. I hadn't been for years and am extremely phobic of the dentist…
