Award-winning Shawlands Dental Care is a state-of-the-art clinic that looks after its staff and its patients.
The busy practice swept the boards of the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards being crowned Dental Practice of the Year 2019; GHP Excellence Award for Outstanding Patient Welfare 2019 and Best Family Dental Clinic in Glasgow.
Based in the heart of Glasgow’s buzzing South Side, Shawlands Dental Care is a multi-award-winning dental clinic and referral centre.
Glasgow Live takes a closer look at the centre to find out more about how it came to win not one but THREE of this year’s coveted Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards:
As they are able to provide the highest possible standard of NHS and Private dental care to the local community and beyond, they were a strong contender from the outset.
The practice has a care coordinator to welcome all new patients to the clinic. She is there to aleve any anxieties and answer any questions nervous patients may have before, during and after they see the dentist.
The clinic itself is state-of-the-art (including an on-site Itero and CT Scanner) and the clinicians rarely have to refer patients elsewhere. Almost all of the patients are able to have all of the treatment they require and want, in this medically, cutting-edge environment.
The practice also has a Cerec Prime Scanner which means they can offer same day crowns and veneers.
Customers come first for the team at Shawlands Dental Care. This is reflected in the fact that they are the top ranking clinic in the UK on Google with over 500 customers reviews praising their work and rating them 4.9/5.
Practice Principal and Platinum-status Invisalign Provider, Dr Haroon Ismail feels that the clinic’s success lies in it’s team.
He said: “Unlike other practices we offer our staff excellent incentives to deliver exceptional customer service.
“Staff wellness is at the forefront of our business model – the break room is well-stocked with healthy fruit and veg deliveries and we enjoy regular team building days.
“Little touches like this, as well as the higher rates of pay, mean that the clinic is able to take its pick of the best talent on the market.”
Shawlands Dental Care are committed to reducing their environmental impact and recently invested heavily in a paper-less administration system because they felt that despite recycling whenever and wherever they could, there was still more that could be done.
The practice is currently undergoing a half a million pound expansion with a view to catering for even more patients which will be music to the ears of local residents and referring dentists. Where possible, the renovations have all been completed using reclaimed fittings and they are also in talks with Colgate to hopefully become a hub for dental recycling.
The clinic is under no illusions that it has hit the jackpot when it comes to its patients, staff and location and it’s now looking to pay its success forward. Plans are in the offing to take some staff to a developing country later in the year to work with child refugees again and Glasgow Live will be checking back in with them to find out all about it when they return.
